Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ScanBilly (“ScanBilly”, “we”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ScanBilly application and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

• Account information: phone number (OTP login), name, role, store name, address, GSTIN.
• Business records you create: products, prices, stock, bills, customer and supplier ledgers, expenses. These belong to you.
• Customer details you enter: names and phone numbers for udhaar records and WhatsApp bills — you are responsible for having their consent.
• Photos: product, logo, and customer photos are stored only on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
• Device & technical data: device identifiers for multi-device sync, app version, diagnostic logs.

2. How we use information

• To operate the Service: billing, sync between your devices, backups, reports.
• To authenticate you via SMS/WhatsApp OTP, provide support, and improve the app.
• We do not sell your data or your customers’ data to anyone.

3. Permissions

• Camera — scanning QR stickers/barcodes, taking product photos.
• Photos/Media — choosing a logo or product image.
• Internet — optional cloud sync and updates; billing works fully offline.

4. Storage & security

Data is stored on your device and, when sync is on, on our servers in India — with encrypted connections (HTTPS), per-device access keys, and role-based access. No system is 100% secure; we work continuously to protect your information.

5. Third-party services

WhatsApp (opened on your device for messages you approve), Open Food Facts / OpenLibrary (barcode name lookup), payment and SMS providers for OTP and subscriptions. Their own policies apply.

6. Data retention & deletion

Synced data is retained while your account is active. Request export or deletion at contact@scanbilly.com; verified requests complete within 30 days except records required by law (e.g., tax records).

7. Children

The Service is for business users aged 18+ and is not directed at children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are notified in-app. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
